Raewyn Read

We are so excited to be having Raewyn Read coming to Cakeriffic this July.
Her work is fantastic and she's a lovely person too.

Raewyn will be doing some demos for us as well as mingling with you all - make sure you get your photo taken with her and post on your facebook pages.

Here's some of her work for you to enjoy:

There's a tutorial for the tiara by Taart van Ilse.

Fashion-inspired cake in silver and white:

A cake that flew 3161 kms across the ocean to New Zealand for Raewyn's Aunty and Uncles 50th Wedding Anniversary:

You can find lots of free tutorials on a variety of techniques from Raewyn on Youtube.

Cake wall stuff.

Ashleigh Webb of Sugar Sisters
from Pakenham in Victoria was one of our prize winners
at Cakeriffic last year.

She won a prize from putting a photo of a cake she made on our Competition Cake wall. There were around 300 photos on the wall and Ashleigh won a fabulous prize of products from Queen (the Aussie company not the band - although that also could have been good!).
Scroll to the bottom of this post for info about how to enter this year's Queen Competition Cake Wall.

Here's a few of her cakes:
Love this cute-as toy chest for a new-born baby.

The wee ballerina can actually spin on this lovely jewellery box cake.

Gorgeous elegant cake in green and yellow.

The Competition Cake Wall is on again this year at Cakeriffic.

How to enter: Bring along 2 photos of your cakes. Photos must be standard size of 15cm x 10cm.

Put your name, email address & phone number on the back of the photo. If you have a cake business please include your facebook or website address.
Gold coin donation to enter on the day.

Categories are:

Professional - for those who make cakes for fun and profit.

Home Baker - for those who make cakes for family and friends but do not make any money from their cakes.

Kids - under 12s who make cakes for fun.

3 prizes donated by Queen a great Aussie company since 1897.

Note that photos will not be returned and may be published on the Cakeriffic facebook, web or blog sites.

All credit will be given to the cake maker/decorator and if you have a business we will include a link to your internet site if we use your photo.

Take the cake and...

Whilst blogging about the James Bond cakes last week I was impressed by the cakes at It Takes the Cake based in Alfred Cove, Western Australia. So impressed was I, that I thought I'd blog exclusively about them today.

Look at this fabulous "old radio" cake. How fantastic is that!

Hilarious lolly-eating big shark. Love this!

Love the London bus. Great idea for the older pommie!

Gorgeous pastel colours for the baby celebration.

I had to put the next one in because the DH is Scottish - makes me want to get married to him all over again just so we could have cute cake toppers like this!

I'd love to show them all here but go and have a look yourself and like them on facebook
They also do cupcakes and cookies.
