Thought I'd have a Beatrix Potter day today - no reason really; it's not her birthday or anything like that; it's just because.
First up is this cake from The Bakery Blog which features Peter Rabbit and Mr. Jeremy Fisher (fishing, naturally).
Whipped Bakeshop has a birthday cake with a lovely Jemima Puddleduck on the top.
Of course all the cakes with a Beatrix Potter theme are for little kids and babies and are generally done in pastel shades.
I love the fence with the open gate around the side of this cake from Cupcakes 'n Candy
Found this next one at Cake Central but don't know who made it. I like the way the figures are painted and look like Beatrix Potter's illustrations.
And from The Wedding Cake in the UK comes this beautiful rendition of Peter Rabbit in the garden.
I've been to Hill Top in 1983 which was Beatrix Potter's home. It's in Near Sawrey in the Lake District in England. Lovingly restored to commemorate her work and worth a visit.
